Basic Requirements
- High school Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- 18 years of age at time of application.
- Experience with teaching in a classroom (or equivalent) environment.
- Access to high speed internet .
- Experience with Video Conferencing software (Skype, Gotomeeting, Webex, etc) for training purposes.
- Knowledge with .pdf files and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Proficient knowledge in Sign Language (specific to your area and/or country).
- Each client that you teach MUST purchase the SignShine Guidebook. SignShine Guidebook is an electronic e-book on “How to Sign with your Child,” best studies, tools, charts, games and activities compiled together that can be read on the computer or any e-reader (iPad, Kindle, Sony e-reader, Nook, etc). This is an amazing and a must guide for anyone in the process of learning baby sign language.

"The best thing about being a SignShine Certified instructor is that it gives you credibility in a world where credentials are rare. It means you have achieved a level of expertise that not only is recognized but respected by clients, other instructors and professionals. The thing I loved most about the curriculum is that it allowed you to be who you are as a person and educator and it was adaptable. If you have a 6 wk session instead of 8 wks you could adjust and still get all the info in that you want to teach. I also liked that all the lessons were broken down simply and easily led the group into important conversations about parenting and how to incorporate signing into day to day life. Most of all, they were fun to teach and allowed me to teach tools that can make parenting easier.
Let's face it, raising kids is hard and giving them and their parents tools to make it easier made my heart soar. My passion is children and watching that little light go off in their head when they would realize that they could let their needs be known was such a personal reward.
