How to Adjust to Daylight Savings Time

New Routine with a Baby

It is this time of the year again! Longer days and more sunlight are on their way!

A reminder that although we will be missing an hour of sleep, to set your alarms one hour ahead and be aware of the time change on March 10th.

This can be a challenging day not only for adults but also for our little ones.

To make this transition easy for the family and to avoid tantrums, fatigue, and restlessness be prepared to adjust your child’s nap and bedtime a day before.

It’s essential to attempt to get an hour or two more hours of sleep the night before to not interrupt your schedule for baby sleep training.

Be prepared if your child wakes up with their favorite bedtime stories and stuffed animals as well as leaving the curtains closed.

Lastly, stay on schedule, despite the time change. Leave some time to treat yourself and know that in a few days this change will be as a new routine!

Every routine takes some time. Be patient, with yourself, and with your child, and take a few days to adjust to the new schedule.
