Mothers shine not only on Mother’s Day
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Madre, Mother. We all know them. Their unconditional love, support, and strong opinions. And we love them for it.
I began my signing journey when I became a mom. My number one job. And this journey of working with other mothers as well as the love from my own has been and is an incredible one. Here are just a few reasons why moms, including you, are so very special.
Nurturing: From the womb to the dinner table, the shopping, the cooking and the love that goes into supplying support does not go unnoticed. It is literally sustaining.
Advice: No matter what the issue or what age you are, you can always go to your mom for sage advice. She will often have something wise and insightful to say, and even if you don’t agree with her advice, it helps bring you clarity.
Support: Whether you are embarking on a school day, a college excursion, or a new career, she is the first one to be your cheerleader, to offer that sage advice I just mentioned. ^^^ And to remind you of the lessons you learned in the past. It began when we were tiny and needed to learn how to stand on our own. Mom has continued to cheer you on as life moves forward.
First Aid: From the time we discovered our fingernails; to the journey to walking, or the heart that breaks from love lost. Mom knows how to mend the hurt knee and the hurt heart. From warm Almond milk to gauze and tape, from long talks to aloe and back to Band-Aids; Mama will help you mend to pain.
Built-in Confidant: Though we find good friends, and spouses to confide in. There is never a person who knows you from the start and always has your back quite like Mom. She is a built in guide for the little ones and a trustworthy friend as an adult.
Thank you Moms for providing all of that. And for the selflessness you show from the moment you know you are pregnant. We love you very much.
Happy Mother’s Day!
