Prep for a fun filled summer, starting now! I know, I know- life is FILLED to the brim with to dos and commitments. Did you know family trips- even just over a weekend can help strengthen relationships and grow your bond as a family. Have older kids? Or even younger ones? Allowing them to bring a friend is a great way to get to know the individuals your kids are hanging out with. SO, you have two or three days, now what???
The Zoo- filled with fun and educational information. The zoo is a fantastic place for a short getaway! Live shows will entertain and educate the children while giving you and your spouse time to connect and also providing good conversation for the family afterward.
Griffith Observatory– Okay-so this is only helpful if you are a L.A. local, but Griffith Park boasts a super fun science museum inside the Griffith observatory as well as fun hikes that the family can enjoy together! Bring a picnic lunch! Not in L.A? Find a science museum near you.
Live Sporting Events- Though I highly recommend playing instead of watching, live sporting events are a fun and relaxing way to enjoy your weekend. Have an ice cream cone at the game, and talk to your kids about friendly rivalry.
Kids Concerts- With High School Musical (which is the new Mickey Mouse Club) and Justin Beiber there are so many fun concerts for you to take the kids to. This is a sure way to treat your child while becoming parent of the year- especially if you anticipate the event. Let your child know that you care about what interests them, and that they can share it with you by taking them to a concert that they’ll enjoy!
Camping/Hiking– The good news here is that you don’t even need to leave your backyard to have a fun camping adventure. Pitch a tent in the backyard, add some sleeping bags, and you are set up for a night of storytelling and fun discussions!
