How to Discuss Gratitude with you Child in a Creative Way

Like any art project, the goal is not only abotu making the hands, it is more abotu the proecess of creating a grateful hand with your child, having the discucsstion abotu teh differnet things in our lives. Read below some suggestions key points to discuss gratitude with children, any age.
What will you need:
– Colored stock paper
– Assorted markers / crayons / stickers
– Scissors
– Popsicle sticks
– Glue
1. Trace your child’s hand. Trace your hand.
2. Cut out the shape.
3. Ask your child what is s/he grateful for. Give one example of what you are grateful for.
Talking points:
– Shapes: Compare your child’s hand to the cutout shape. Discuss the concept of ‘The Same’.
– Comparrison: Compare the sizes of your hand to your child’s hand. Bigger and smaller.
– Talk about Gratitude:we are grateful for tangible things in our lives, like food, gas in our car, our bed, our toys. And we are grateful for people, like family and friends. With older kids you can discuss the meaning of living in a democrat country, where we have the right to vote and to express our opinions.
